About the farm:
Elgin Vintners, as the name suggests, is located in the cool Elgin valley. It consists of a partnership of six grape growers who combined their resources to produce the Elgin Vintners range of wines.
The book (logo) located on the wine label is symbolic of Elgin Vintners being “Publishers of Fine Wine”. Their plantings cover 101 hectares and their varieties include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Riesling, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Pinot Noir and Shiraz.
Wine tastings are done at the Homestead which is wrapped by orchards, vineyards and sloping pasture. One can enjoy a beautiful view of the garden when sitting outside.

About the wine:
This Chardonnay was produced by winemaker Kevin Grant. He is also the winemaker of Ataraxia wines. As the name suggests, this is the 6th vintage of this cultivar produced by the farm.
The wine is an aromatic, medium straw-coloured wine with aromas of white pear, limes and butterscotch. The palate is citrus driven with a creamy, mouth covering feel. It is a well-balanced wine with a lingering finish and smooth aftertaste
This wine was 100% barrel fermented of which 35% had a new wood component. It was matured in barrels for 9 months with minimal intervention. It has excellent ageing potential and is a great wine to pair with creamy dishes.
This wine is just another testimony to the superior wines produced in the Elgin Valley!
